Kiplin Hall & its Families Exhibition
This has displays about the founding of Maryland by George Calvert, builder of Kiplin Hall, and about the families who owned and made changes to Kiplin through the centuries. The wall map shows the route taken by the settlers in 1633, when they travelled to the new colony on the small ships, the Ark and the Dove. Miss Talbot commissioned the model of the Ark in 1947. The plasterwork ribs on the ceiling are rare survivals of Jacobean decoration in the Hall.
