Snowdrops and Spring Flowers Garden and grounds open for a
welcome breath of fresh air and the sight of aconites and snowdrops –
those harbingers of spring. Say farewell to winter as you follow the
trail and enjoy the Hall’s grounds at your leisure, or join a guided
walk at 3 pm each day. Tea Room open for hot drinks, tasty cakes, scones
etc. Snowdrops for sale. Potted spring flowers and snowdrops for sale.

Elegant Economy – The Clothes of Cranford -
The 1830s were simply bursting with outrageous fashions. This
outstanding performance by the History Wardrobe gives fascinating clues
about how costume reveals character in the novels of Elizabeth Gaskell –

Woodland Easter Fun - the newly restored Kiplin wood is ready
for explorers! Hunt in the woods, grounds and Hall. Make animal masks,
colour in and more! Come in your Easter hat; bring a hard-boiled egg to
decorate – judging of hats and eggs daily at 4. Also on Easter Sunday,
North Yorkshire Vintage Machinery Society display items from their
collections. Normal admission - Hall: Adult £6, Concession £5, Child £3,

event run by the Friends of Kiplin Hall. Adult £1, Child free. Donations

Great Expectations - Quantum Theatre Company bring Dickens’s
immortal story to life. Beautiful lakeside setting. Tickets Adult £14,

The Voyage of the Ark and the Dove - In the afternoon Penny
Plain Theatre Company perform a half-hour dramatic interpretation of the
settlers’ 1633/4 voyage to Maryland. Included in admission charges to
the Hall or Grounds.

Trees in the Landscape - Kiplin Hall’s ‘artist in residence’,
Colin Graham, leads a workshop in drawing and painting the natural
landscape, working where possible from life in the beautiful grounds of
the Hall. Bring your own materials if you have them (materials provided,
if not – but let us know when booking). Light lunch, tea and coffee
included. £30 per person – booking essential. Minimum 10, maximum 20
participants

The Tempest – The Lord Chamberlain’s Men perform Shakespeare’s
magical last play. His poignant farewell to the stage has love, tragedy
and comedy combined in equal measure. All-male cast. Beautiful lakeside

warm clothes and insect repellent – just in case!

Giants, Dragons and Fairies - Come as the giant or Jack the
Giant-Killer. Be careful dragons – our fire detectors are sensitive!
Fairies, weave your best spells against evil. Dress as you wish, but be
sure to have fun following our treasure trails, cutting and making,
icing and drawing and, for the weary, there are stories to hear.
Activities in the gardens and Hall (indoors if wet). £3.50 per person,
adult or child. Drop in any time – no booking required. Children, please
bring at least one adult.

Torchlight Ghost Tours – Tour the Hall with your ‘Victorian’
guide and hear tales of its ghostly inhabitants through the centuries.

torch!

‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ – An interpretation of those
well-known gifts and their meanings. Twelve rooms of beautiful Christmas
decorations created by the Friends and volunteers of Kiplin Hall and
local groups using fresh flowers and greenery. Decorative theme and
Christmas activities for children. Christmas Shop – unusual gifts,
original artwork and prints, crafts, stocking fillers and cards. Tea

Victorian Tales of Fear – Classic Ghost Stories for the
Christmas Season. Found Theatre, in association with North Country
Theatre, presents three chilling tales, from the likes of Charles
Dickens, M.R. James and Edgar Allen Poe, introduced and narrated by
eccentric Victorian ghost hunter, Montagu Furzan and featuring Paul
Sullivan as The Madman. Tickets Adult £12, Concession £10, Children £8
(not suitable for under 11s) including festive interval refreshments.
